Hi there! My name is Josh from Homesteading Family and your host for The Traditional Skills Summit.

My wife, Carolyn, and I live on a 40-acre homestead in Idaho with our family.

We grow all of our own meat, raise most of our own vegetables and fruit, and produce the majority of our dairy products from one beautiful cow named Tilly.

We live pretty happy, free, and secure lives.

But you see, it wasn’t always this way. 20 years ago, we were doing the grind, building careers, and starting a family. City living never suited us, and as we started having kids and really looking at the world around us, we knew there had to be a better way.

So we began the journey.

You know, trying to grow some things out of the hard dirt, chasing escaped animals down the road, wondering if that pressure canner is safe and why the bread keeps coming out like bricks.

There was no YouTube back then, and certainly no one we knew was paving the way before us. So we got some books and went with good ol’ trial and error.

In 2016 Carolyn and I started Homesteading Family to help speed up the learning curve for other folks in the same boat as we were. We wanted to help them get to where they wanted to be, but faster, with fewer mistakes than we made, and a little encouragement along the way!

It’s been a great journey. We have seen so many lives changed and made a lot of new friends. We’ve even gotten to meet and learn from some of our heroes that helped us along the way.

NOW we are excited to be taking another step in the journey.

We have founded the School of Traditional Skills to help make learning this homesteading life just a little easier and even more fun. We’ve brought together some of the most well-known and trusted teachers in one place, under one roof, so we can all learn from them together.

And we are kicking it off with The Traditional Skills Summit!

A FREE event where you can learn and ask questions from the best, like Joel Salatin, Sally Fallon, Justin Rhodes, Paul Gautschi of Back to Eden Gardening, and yep Carolyn Thomas, my beautiful wife from Homesteading Family. There are many other incredible teachers and this is going to be an amazing experience.

AND, there will be an opportunity to purchase the recorded event (and get access to the school) if you want to dive in even more later.

But no matter what after 4 short days, you’ll have some skills in your back pocket to get you….

Raising some of your own livestock

Growing your own food

Preserving that food

And cooking traditionally healthy food.

The Traditional Skills Summit is the perfect event for you if:

You’re eager to learn about living a self-sufficient life but are overwhelmed with ALL the skills to learn and things to do

You live in the city and want to have a homestead in your backyard but need to know where to start and what to do.

You want to learn from true experts AND fast-track your self-sufficiency skills. (Psst! These folks are generously giving their time - for FREE!)

You’ve been homesteading for a while. You want to add more skills. BUT without wasting time and money!

You know self-sufficiency is the way to help your family thrive in a complicated world. At the same time, you don’t want to spend every waking second figuring things out on your own.

You'll walk away from The Traditional Skills Summit with new skills and a much better understanding of how traditional homesteading skills can work for, and your family.

The Traditional Skills Summit is for you if you’d rather be tending to a garden than sitting in traffic at 8 AM!

Yep, it’s time to step out of traffic and start mastering the skills you need to live a life that’s simpler, healthier, and more self-sufficient!

The speakers at the Traditional Skills Summit were picked for their expertise so they can help you shortcut the path to a more self-sufficient life. With confidence.

You’ll walk away from this event with skills to help you grow more of your own food, raise some livestock, and create more food security while doing it in a healthy way.

PLUS you get a chance to ask questions directly from the experts every day.

BEST PART?

You have access to ALL recordings for the duration of the event.

(And if you sign up to be a member of the School of Traditional Skills, you’ll get lifetime access to the recordings.)

This event is FREE and these experts have come together to help you take the next step.

After this summit  you will find yourself well on the path to greater resiliency, having learned 12 new skills to put to work in your life right now!

Ok, that all sounds good, but you still have some questions….

Why is this event free?

We know how busy and full your life is. You don’t have hours to search for the perfect expert to teach you the skills you need. We’ve done the work for you.

PLUS, this is our way of giving back AND building a community that has helped us so much as we’ve grown our homesteading and self-sufficiency skills.

Keeping it free is our way of welcoming you with open arms and giving hearts.

What skill level should I be at to attend this event?

Any! This is perfect for beginners as we have put these classes together with you in mind. But it’s not just for beginners, all of these instructors have decades of experience and they always have something to share and bits of wisdom even the most seasoned homesteader can learn from.

What if I can’t attend the sessions LIVE? Will I get the recordings?

Yep, you bet. For the duration of the summit, the recordings will be available to listen to, for free! If you can’t make it to all or some of them…during the summit, we will make them available for purchase along with school membership. We’ll tell you more during the summit!

Do I have to sign up for the School of Traditional Skills to attend the event?

Nope, The Traditional Skills Summit is absolutely free to attend!

If I get the FREE Ticket and later change my mind and want lifetime access to the recordings, can I sign up later?

You will have a few days after the summit ends to purchase the recorded summit if you change your mind or don’t make it to the summit.

If you have read this far, then this event is for you!

You are clearly interested in building a more healthy, free, and secure life through homesteading and traditional skills.

This is the place and this is the time to get started!
